What's all this about Thanksgiving anyway? What do I have to give thanks for? Friends that are a bunch of half-minds drinking beer and running in circles? Enough turkey and fixins to feed a small military outfit? Singing songs in a circle with people that don't care if you smell? Wow...now that I think about it, I guess I do have a lot to be thankful for.
A small, but beautiful group of hashers gathered at I Wanna Ryder's Kirkwood home. Everyone brought delicious food and there was much rejoicing (left over joke from the holy grail trail).
PMS brought a squash dish, Postage brought PMS who actually had to travel home to burn another CD of drinking music. Meta brought a pie for every girl and boy. GladHeAteHer brought several bottles of wine and spirits, which only lasted about 5 minutes. Halley's Comet brought a sweet potato casserole. I brought a turkey breast to smoke. (There's a joke in there somewhere) And I Wanna Ryder made everything else. It was a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat.
Are the hares away? Aaah, who cares, let's have another slice of pie. After about 4 more pieces, we were on out. Around the block we went...PMS was getting thirsty, so we decided to have a Beer Stop at the end of the block. Good thing too, because I was getting tired of all that running.
We found our way back to the "Circle" where we found Meta and I Wanna Ryder sitting comfortably on the couch. Since we had such a small group, how long could the circle be? Luckily, with such a small trail there were more crimes and accusations than we had marks.
Yours truly won the hash shit for forgetting the turkey in my fridge and having to drive back home to get it. Half-mind.
Thank you to the Hares for setting a very shitty trail. It was the best Thanksgiving day I can remember.
