It's your friendly neighborhood Record here for my annual appearance! What better hash than 1944, which happens to be the year the boys gave the Kraut's whatfor on the sands of the Normandy coast.

Do you yearn for the burn of stinging nettles? The crusty rash of poison ivy? How about rolling the dice with some tick-borne illness? Well say no more, fam! I've got the trail for you. What we lack in German fortifications we will make up for with voluntary misery as we maneuver our moistened moccasins along the meandering Meramec.

What to expect: Another hare! Water features! Swimming or at least some very deep wading! Critters!Mud! Bugs! Probably the remnants of a shake n' bake meth lab! A possible Aperol Spritz stop! Maybe some hashers that haven't made an appearance since forever! Exclamation points!

What not to expect: Walker trail! But don't despair too much as the trail itself won't be conducive to running anyhow! A previously disclosed beer stop location!

What to bring: Def some bug spray Change of clothes, head to toe Cranium light just in case. A can-do attitude.
