Nobody has written the Hash Trash yet...WHY ARE WE WAITING!?!?!
Words in bold italics are from the Big Hump Website. Lots of good information there to get oneself schooled about hashing.
"To head off any pissing and moaning” from those who like to lay and/or run 6+ mile trails, please read below about what to expect.
Runners trail? Duh! “A hash is a run with beer at the beginning, middle, and end”. So yes, there’s a runners trail. It’s mostly on pavement.
How many miles is this trail? We don’t know but “generally, Big Hump trails are 2 - 5 miles”.
How long will it take? It’s totally runner dependent but “your time on trail might be 45 minutes to an hour and a half”.
Do I have to run? Of course the answer is, “NO! We walk, take shortcuts, and use whatever means necessary to get to the beer”.
Walkers Trail? YES! As a courtesy to non runners who enjoy attending the hash, and to keep them coming back, the Hares will have a walkers trail. Maybe two or three of them?
And most importantly: “The hash is a race! It is all about having fun”.
